ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATION 2025-26

REPORT

Environment day is celebrated worldwide on 5th June to create awareness among people about protecting the environment. The first-ever Environment Day was held in 1973. Environment Day acts as a platform that helps create awareness about various issues that have adverse effects on the environment, like global warming, overpopulation, pollution, and crime against wildlife.

World Environment Day 2025 focused on combating plastic pollution, with the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution”. The day raised awareness about the harmful impacts of plastic waste on the environment and called for individual and collective action to reduce plastic use and promote sustainable alternatives.

The entire community of VVSKB celebrated Environmental day with colourful programmes and by planting saplings collected from the students. Students were asked to make posters, placards ,banners and pamphlets on the theme of Environment Day. Some of the highlights are a group song which emphasises the importance of protecting mother earth , a dance specially choreographed with creeper plants and a skit that inculcates the values of nurturing the nature that shelters us from all the calamities.

Bhumika Maam in her well wrought speech focussed that our existence on earth is possible if the nature is protected with all its diversities. Every element in nature is pivotal for the well being of all forms of life.

Saplings were handed over to both Administrator and the Principal to convey the message that  planting  more saplings would  mitigate the onslaught on nature.

Lastly the Principal thanked everyone for their active participation.
