SPORTS DAY

VAGDEVI VILAS SCHOOL, BIRUR

HELD ON 4th, 5th & 6th DECEMBER 2025

The Vagdevi Vilas School, Birur organized its grand Intra-School Sports Meet 2025–26 on the 4th, 5th, and 6th of December 2025 in the school campus. Students from all four houses—Agni, Akash, Vayu, and Bhoomi—participated with great enthusiasm, displaying excellent sportsmanship and teamwork throughout the three-day event.

The sports meet commenced with a formal inauguration ceremony. The program began with an invocation song melodiously sung by the girls of Classes 5 to 8, setting a graceful start to the event.

This was followed by a warm welcome speech by Physical Educator Sri Manjappa, who highlighted the importance of sports and physical fitness.

The sports flag was then hoisted by the school heads. A spectacular March Past by all four houses took place, led by their respective Captains and Vice-Captains, accompanied by the school’s band set and flute team. The discipline and coordination of the students were highly appreciated.

The official declaration of the Sports Meet was made by Admin Sri Gavi Siddesh, after which the event was inaugurated by Principal Smt. Saraswathi by releasing balloons and throwing the shotput, marking the energetic beginning of the competitions.

The ceremony concluded with a sincere Vote of Thanks by Kumari Shahanaaz.

Sports Events

Throughout the three days, students enthusiastically participated in a wide range of track events, throwing events, and group games such as Volleyball, Throwball, and Kho-Kho. Teachers extended full support in coordinating the events, ensuring smooth and fair conduct.

For Classes 1 to 4, students were grouped as (1 & 2) and (3 & 4). They participated in fun and skill-based activities including:

• 50 metres running race
•  Musical hoops
•  Filling the bottle with water
• Ball pick up and drop
• Ball in the bucket
• And several other age-appropriate games

Students showcased remarkable energy and talent, securing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes in various events.

The VVS–KB Intra-School Sports Meet 2025–26 set a new benchmark in organizing and conducting sports events at the school level. The meet concluded successfully, reflecting true sportsman spirit, cooperation, coordination, discipline, and patience, even during intense moments of competition.

Overall, the sports meet was a wonderful platform for students to exhibit their physical abilities, teamwork, and confidence.

It was indeed a memorable and inspiring event for the entire school community.
