Kannada Rajyotsava, the Karnataka Formation Day, was celebrated as Vagdevi Kannada Parva in Vagdevi Vilas School, Birur on 1st November 2025 under the special cultural theme “KANNADA JANAPADA MERAGU”. The entire programme was planned under the guidance of School Admin Sri Gavi Siddesh Sir and Principal Smt. Sarasvathi ma’am. The Chief Guest of the programme was Sri Hosuru Puttaraju Sir.

The Chief Guest was welcomed in a traditional bullock cart procession from the school entrance, accompanied by various cultural dance teams. Students performed folk steps and created a vibrant festive atmosphere showcasing the richness of Karnataka.

The formal programme began with the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by Nadageethe and Raitha Geethe. Later in Sabhangana, cultural events were conducted where students from Grade 1 to Grade 10 actively participated. Under the theme Kannada Janapada Meragu, almost all major folk forms of Karnataka were covered including Yakshagana, Kolata, Kamsale, Tiger Dance along with songs, speeches and folk presentations.

The Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of Vagdevians and mentioned that this programme stands as an ideal example of how Kannada Rajyotsava must be celebrated in schools. Parents witnessed the programme and appreciated every performance.

All the events were well planned by teachers and students performed with great energy and excitement. Overall the programme was traditional, meaningful, culturally rich and memorable.
